Day Announces Grant for Upper Macungie Park Plan

May 20, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh) today announced he helped secure a $90,140 Local Share Account (LSA) grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for the Lone Lane Park Master Plan Project in Upper Macungie Township.

Act 71 of 2004 provides for the distribution of LSA gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects of public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“Outdoor recreation is hugely popular in the Lehigh Valley, especially during warmer months when families want to get outside and enjoy our parks,” Day said. “Lone Lane Park offers tremendous potential, but its current layout creates real access challenges for many residents. This grant funding will help develop a smart, practical plan to make the park fully accessible so everyone – seniors, families with young children and individuals with disabilities – can enjoy it safely and comfortably.”

The park is the second most used for programming and community events but has accessibility and connectivity limitations. There is only one vehicular access point, no clear pedestrian access points and routes to park amenities are not accessible. The plan will evaluate the park directly and a nearby northern parcel to see if it can be connected to increase park amenities.
